Mario Disabled!?

Here We Go!!

Seeing this video actually scared me a little. If they wanted to make an impression they made one.
This video was made to show the world that we need better access for the disabled. It uses Super Mario to get the message across. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but Mario doesn't seem like the character to make this statement with. Also, seeing Mario get hurt in this video makes me hurt too, I guess that's sort of what they wanted.

"Real talk I gotta give s ACCESSIBILITY.
A new video, this time on the subject who is very close to our hearts."~ Rough translation

iPhone's 1ups

Here We Go!!

Super Mario sounds are now on iphone (I know what you're thinking, that's nothing new, but WAIT FOR IT), via Jailbreak you can now set up your phone to get notifications with Mario Bros coin sound and once it reaches a set amount of coins it'll make the 1Up sound. Pretty sweet. 1Up can be set to give the coins for multiple app's notifications.

Super Mario ReMaker

Here We Go!!

A fellow Super Mario Fan going by the alias of LuNiney on YouTube has put out a demo of a project he's working on called "Super Mario ReMaker". It only has the SMB (1) game style and copies various elements from from Super Mario Maker as well as adds some new elements; not found in Super Mario Maker. This game is listed on his site as a Fan-Game. These form of projects are usually not for copying complete games, he's also stated he also doesn't want to add any more themes to it than the SMB theme it already has in it. It looks like, if he doesn't go and charge for this game then it's perfectly legal for him to make it. Furthermore he listed all of the materials used as copyrighted by Nintendo. If it's free, his own fan-made thing and doesn't contain all of what is in Mario Maker... Go for it. Here's the first look at the fan-made game, Super Mario ReMaker:

Mario and Sonic Rio 2016 Olympics amiibo Functionality

Here We Go!! Remember,

Nintendo of Japan has put out a video explaining how amiibo will unlock costumes for your Miis in Mario & Sonic At the Rio Olympics 2016 game. Of course this trailer is in Japanese  so I do not completely understand it, obviously. But anyways, here it is, see here what you can do in the 3Ds version of this game using amiibo:

Mysterious Mario Maker update

Today Super Mario Maker got an unannounced update. We're not quite sure how it affects the game. in fact, nobody really knows. This is what makes it mysterious. We have no idea what it does.
When starting the game today (December 29th) you should be prompted to download the latest update if you're connected to the internet. it then will download automatically.

#MarioMonday 12/28/15

Here We Go!!

Man, that was an amazing Christmas. Mario-Time took some time off for the Holiday but we're back and ready to get sharing. Another thing, we'v gotten more games to review thanks to Christmas so we should be putting out new reviews soon. AR-Cade will also be sharing his yearly Christmas haul on Mario-Time-World, Now, for our weekly featured Super Mario Maker Course.

This week it's all about the mountains, We got two course submissions from two different Mario Makers around the same time. The first mountain was easiest and most enjoyable so that's the one we're sharing today.
Course ID: 60F1-0000-0129-B381
Mario's High Altitude A dventures is interesting and exciting. They're are secrets in this course, challenges that offer puzzling ways to reach the goal and it does feel like adventures at high altitudes, with the ship theme, the mountain and platforms in the clouds. This course is worth checking out.

Quiz:

Name one power-up from SMB that has had a name change past the first game, no cheaters. Don't you go and look it up.

Advanced is 4 Wii U Now Too

Here We Go!!

Game Boy Advanced games have been on Wii U before, lately virtual console games are being announced for Europe but today Nintendo of Japan has announced Super Mario Bros Advanced 4 on the Wii U. It looks like it's available in Japan for download today. But we could be wrong... We're NOT Japanese.

The Captain has arrived

Here We Go!!

Nintendo of the UK on Twitter has announced today three new Mystery Mushroom costumes headed to Super Mario Maker with their own corresponding event courses. This is news for the UK (again) so we don't know when they'll be out here in the Americas. It seems like a lot of the latest news for Super Mario is coming out from the UK, lets hope some other regions get some attention soon. Anyways, Captain Toad, Looking outstanding in pixel form, Excite Bike and Birdo are on there way, in the UK on December 31st 2015, possibly the same day everywhere else around the world.

Super Mario 64 DS Wii U

Here We Go!!

Super Mario 64 was awesome, but Super Mario 64 had updated graphics and more to do in-game because Miyamoto put everything he couldn't fit into the N64 game, into the DS game. But now the game is coming to Wii U virtual console in Europe, just yesterday we shared how Super Mario RPG was coming to Wii U in Europe on Christmas eve, we don't know on what date this game will be out but it could be the same day. As for the Americas, again we cannot confirm these games will indeed be on Virtual Console for the Wii U anytime soon, but it's a safe bet they will be eventually because Europe's getting them right now. Of course the article we discovered this in didn't have a SOURCE link so we cannot confirm their information either.

Super Mario Maker Update 12-21/22-15

Here We Go!!

OK, this is for real. Mama-Mia, We've reported lies. We were misinformed, the press site for Nintendo said that the latest Super Mario Maker update and the portal site; would both be out on December 21st but everywhere else (including Mario's Facebook page) said the 22nd of December for both the update and portal site.

Honestly, we feel awful for sending out the wrong information, apparently the new update is supposed to be out today, with the portal site. If so, we will review both the update and the portal site. As well as release a Christmas themed course after the review. But for the America's press site to make such a fumble is annoying for us reporters, we only want to get out the TRUE information.
The update IS now available, as well as SUPER MARIO MAKER BOOKMARK (the portal site).
Our review on these new things will be out shortly. We've been informed through Facebook that the update could've been out late last night/early this morning. But it's still incorrect for Nintendo's Press Room to show the release date as December 21st.

Mario Monday: Merry Christmoose! (12-21-15)

Here We Go!!
It's the week of Christmas, Mama-Mia! We're-a so excited! I bet you can't wait to wake up in your Mario Night pants, run down to the Christmas Tree (or up), Open up your Mario presents and play video games all day. Or is that just me?

Super Mario Maker:

Anyways, it's the MarioMonday before Christmas so we've got some final Christmas things to share with everyone today. First of all we have this week's Super Mario Maker Course, featured on Mario-Time-World. It's called "Icy Snow Land"

The Maker of this course got it to look like Snow was falling from the sky; AND made a Christmas tree out of Super Mario elements, Ground, Spike Tops, Star Man, vines, and ice. I was thoroughly impressed with the creativity and obvious love of Christmas.

Fan Made:

These perler Bead Super Mario Maker Costumes are like taking the sprites right out of the game, found here. Awesome!

Retro look-back:

This Super Mario Galaxy Christmas Stocking came out in 2007, it has two different variants, Black & Red. IMO, the Black looks best. According to VGMM, they are very rare

Super Mario RPG, Wii U, on Christmas eve, in Europe

Here We Go!!

If you don't already know, Super Mario RPG [Legend of The Seven Stars] Is reportedly coming to Wii U for Virtual Console this Thursday (Christmas Eve). Super Mario RPG is already on Wii virtual console but I don't think it's possible to download that version for the built-in Wii in the Wii U console. It looks like this may only be for Europe right now, but if it's there you can bet it'll be headed to the Americas soon.... Probably... We cannot confirm that it is, but several sites suggest it is coming out to Europe this Thursday.

Mario 8-bit sale!

Here We Go!!

Not sure if this is for every region currently, but here in the USA, the two 8bit Mario amiibo variations are now just $9.99 at Walmart.com. The image above was taken from their website. The original price for these amiibo was the average amiibo pricing of $12.96, So them dropping two dollars and ninety seven cents off the cost of these amiibo is a deal, pick em' up while the deal lasts if you don't have them already.

MK8 on PC

Here We Go!!
There was news a little while back of someone developing a PC based Wii U emulator, so far progress seems to be going well for whoever is doing this. And it needs to stop, Nintendo looses sales if people ilegally download them on their PC, and with less sales comes less of everything.

What is Nintendo's official stance on video game piracy?
Video game piracy is illegal. Nintendo opposes those who benefit and trade off of the creative work of game developers, artists, animators, musicians, motion-capture artists and others. Piracy continues to be a significant threat to Nintendo's business, as well as to the businesses of more than 1,400 game-development companies that work to provide games for Nintendo systems. Most importantly, game developers and publishers, particularly the smaller ones, depend on the legitimate sales of their games in order to survive. Piracy discourages innovation and new game development, which ultimately impacts the consumer.~ Source

A Smashing finale!

Here We Go!!
Well, not so much, because there was only one piece of Mario content added to the game, other than that Mario fans got nothing new. But it is what it is, please welcome the Geno Hat+ Geno Outfit Mii fighter costume. This is based off of a very popular Super Mario RPG character. This is a Mii gunner costume. It would've been nice if they also added Mario and Luigi overall costumes to go with the Mario and Luigi caps for Mii fighters. But this is it for us, oh well...

Mario's on Linkedin but don't freak out

Here We Go!!

OK so the internet went nuts this morning, everyone's sharing Mario's newly discovered LinkedIn account. Indeed Mario is on LinkedIn, but also it looks like he's not. What we mean to say is that there is a Mario Bros LinkedIn account but it doesn't appear to be official, if you follow their profile's link back to their Twitter account you can see that due to the lack of the blue check mark next to their name that they are not verified, Nintendo themselves are verified so having a Mario bros account that isn't would be silly of them. Upon viewing their tweets I can confirm this LinkedIn account is fan made, sharing things the official Super Mario Facebook page would never share, including fake Mario bros mugshot drawings. Still, they really tried to make the account look real and it did get a lot of attention.

Mario Maker Plagiarism

Here We Go!! Remember,
People have been downloading popular Super Mario Maker courses and re-uploading them as their own courses. This is plagiarism and it's annoying some players to see that others are taking credit for what they've made. NSMB (DS) on Wii U

Here We Go!!
Nintendo of Europe let out a Virtual Console trailer for NSMB, the DS game, coming to Wii U. This is for Europe but it's now listed on Nintendo's USA website for Virtual console, you can buy it today for the low price of $9.99. Another thing, the Nintendo account system has not yet been applied to the USA, yet it now seems that we can purchase Nintendo games on their website to instantly download to our consoles, with our NNIDs. This was a feature of the new account service, perhaps we'll be getting the service here in the Americas soon.

snowboard in the alpine village uses various Super Mario elements to represent snow, it was submitted as a Christmas course but it's clearly just winter themed. There's a lot of different elements you have to rely on to finish this course, including picking up a boot from a Goomba to cross spiky ground. I also really like the amount of detail that was put into making the village homes.

A New Galaxy, on Wii U!

Here We Go!!
Super Mario Galaxy is coming to Wii U!? Hold your Lumas, this ESRB rating COULD be talking about bringing both games to Wii U, like Virtual Console. Or maybe it's just showing it for Wii and Wii U because you can play it also on Wii U and it's acknowledging that. But I admit it's odd that they're now showing as both Wii and Wii U, perhaps it is coming to Wii U! That would be incredible, but unnecessary unless they make the games HD or something like that. Ironically this news was discovered after our review of Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is already out for Virtual Console on Wii U. Who knows, this could be an HD remake or  simply  a downloadable Virtual console edition. As mind-blowing as this sounds don't get too excited, we still don't have a Sunshine 2 or Galaxy 3. For updates on this finding, stick with Mario-Time.

For the 3DS downloads this week Nintendo has released a new Super Mario theme for the theme shop called Mario "Hanafuda". This costs 1.99 and features only Super Mario themed Hanafuda cards in the background. The top screen scrolls with you to view all the cards while the bottom screen's image stays still and shows Mario and Toad playing with the cards on a little card table. You may recal the FREE DLC for Mercedes Veichle Karts in Mario Kart 8, well now they've made a course with a costume in Super Mario Maker. No, this is not an elaborate joke, it's all true. *SIGH* The costume honestly doesn't really fit in the game (in my opinion).
“Super Mario Maker continues to grow and evolve with new courses and content,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “It’s great that a luxury car brand like Mercedes-Benz recognizes the ability to create fun courses and share them with others.”~Nintendo PR

Playing Super Mario is good for you

Here We Go!!
The University of California, Irvine's Craig Stark neurobiology and behavior professor, and Dane Clemenson, postdoctoral scholar-fellow, talk about their research that may hold clues about neurobiology and diseases. Notice they say it "May hold clues". Their research shows that playing 3D games like Super Mario 3D World will improve someones memory; versus playing a 2D game like Busby, for example. Looks like we'll be introducing Super Mario into our education system next. I'm totally game for that.

Minecraft. Wii U. Mario?

Here We Go!!
Mario in Minecraft, old news right? Wrong! Now it's confirmed that Minecraft is coming to the Wii U, what's more, Nintendo will be WORKING with Mojang to bring official Nintendo + Minecraft content for the game. Mario will be in Minecraft officially!! At least that's what it sounds like, nothing is confirmed about that. This announcement must've been made on the Nintendo UK press site because for North America I haven't found anything yet. But according to Nintendoeverything.com Minecraft Wii U Edition will be out December 17th. Mama-Mia that's not long from now, I'm excited to see what this partnership of Nintendo and Minecraft/Microsoft will bring to the Wii U. Really (IMO) this game should've been on Wii U from the start.
Update: The USA/NA Nintendo Press release website announced Minecraft on Wii U today later on, possible around 3:00 PM EST. It will be out in NA as well on December 17th.

What? You didn't know it had a name? Of course it has a name and any true Mario fan should know it so this is the prime time to learn it if you don't know it already. Yes the SMB game now has a vinyl record out in Japan which is official from Nintendo. This record has the original theme from SMB with lyrics and in a karaoke version. The Japanese theme has lyrics that are copyrighted by Nintendo. Before you go to the following video please guess the title for the Japanese theme for SMB.

Glitch be-gone

Here We Go!!
Apparently (according to many different sites) Super Mario Maker courses featuring the invisible block trick glitch are being deleted from Course World. The invisible block glitch allowed users to (you guessed it) make invisible platforms for Mario to walk on in levels. The following video will explain how it's done but I guess the previous update removed this glitch from the game, also the permanent invulnerability glitch and a glitch that lets you jump higher on a trampoline while holding an item.
