Nintendo Badge ARCADE

Nintendo is releasing a 3DS app that hasn't ever left Japan before, in Europe. So this app allows you to customize your 3DS home screen using Nintendo character themed Badges from games like Animal Crossing, Zelda and of course Super Mario. You win Badges by playing old school ARCADE games and then you can decorate the Home Menu, placing them in the order their supposed to be placed or even in your own unique way. Best part, the app is free to download, you'll get to test your skills and win badges once per day for free, for further badge collecting we don't yet know the pricing. The app is free to download and features many mini games to collect Nintendo themed badges, sounds like fun, only problem is it's still not available in the US. Perhaps it'll be announced for the US in the upcoming Nintendo Direct video, Thursday November 12th 2015. Source

Shovel Knight Level designer plays Super Mario Maker

It seems every time someone famous (for what they do) makes a level made a level in Super Mario Maker, their course is shared as an event course, or at least since the update was made adding "event courses" to the course world menu. Anyways, the Level Designer for Shovel Knight made a really thought out Super Mario Maker Level.

The level designer of Yacht Club Games's Shovel Knight has created a course in Super Mario Maker! Check it out and get the Course ID in this video from Polygon!

MarioMonday 11-9-15

Hey Super Mario fanatics, for your enjoyment every Monday here on Mario-Time-News will be Mario Monday. Lets kick things off with a basic quiz.

Mario Facts:
In Super Mario Sunshine Mario uses the FLOOD device to soak up water and wash away ink. Splatoon's gameplay has a lot of similarities to Super Mario Sunshine. Super Mario Sunshine has still not had a sequel. The public is in high demand for either a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Sunshine. I'd prefer both.

Nintendo's Holiday Mall Tour

Smashing! (No, not smash bros)

On Nintendo's tour of 16 malls across the US their bringing Super Mario Maker and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. People who visit one of the locations will get the chance to win free stuff and get to try out Ultra Smash three days after it's release on November, 20th, 2015.
"All the hottest video games of the holiday season will be on display when Nintendo visits 16 malls around the country from Nov. 23 to Dec. 20"~Nintendo Press Room

Super Mario Bros NES World Reccord

Contrary to the time listed in the video, he actually defeats Bowser in around 5 minutes and 5 seconds into gameplay. Still, nobody ever this game that fast before. In fact I believe the video is right in saying "World Record".
I guess this was done last month, this record is almost unbelievable. Throughout the video I never saw him (darbian) get his by a single enemy which begs the question "were cheats involved?". He came rather close to getting hit a couple times but made it from start to finish in a few seconds over five minutes. Unbelievable!

NES Donkey Kong Super Mario Maker remake

I was trying to figure out what retro game I should remake (retro games are easier to remake) then I started playing the NES classics version of the arcade hit Donkey Kong in my mind. I realized this was the one, so I set out to remake the game in Super Mario Maker (all three stages in one level).
there were limits to how much I could do, the theme I used was SMB3-underground. The Blue beams with clouds under them you can jump on top of, the blue beams with blocks under them you cannot. Places with beams that have nothing under them will fall when you land on them. Here's how you get a perfect score on my remake of NES-Donkey Kong.
Course ID 3657-0000-00E1-A3A0
Basic rules:
  1. Beat all three stages dressed as DK
  2. Collect all seven coins
  3. Destroy the final stage with only the door platform remaining

Stage one:

Stage one features the iconic climbing of ladders (Vines represent the ladders) and construction beams. Some ladders you cannot climb up but they will help avoid Spike Tops, Fireballs and Spinys (Spike Tops and Spinys represent barrels). This level is fairly simple and an extra DK costume can be located on the second story. This stage has one coin out of the seven you need to collect (they represent the items you used to have to pick up for Pauline.

Stage 2:

Stage two is loosely based off of the game (I made it from memory alone), But other than the fire bar everything in this stage comes close to accurate. Comparing it of course to the actual game. Basically the same goal as the first stage, get to the door at the top of the level, there are two coins to collect in this stage.

Stage 3:

On Stage three there are four coins and the goal is to break down the construction site while avoiding the fireballs. aside from that the platforms will take you with them when they fall so you have to jump back up to the clouds. A sound will signify you broke the beams and they will fall off the screen. Conclusion: Just like the game, DK will fall at the end of the game with the construction site.

An EXTREME mode will be released today that makes each stage a bit harder to complete.

Mega Man

KHace has remade the original Mega Man game with Super Mario Maker. However there is a block limit in Super Mario Maker so certain parts of the game couldn't be remade. For full details and a video of gameplay visit the "Source".

Maker Faire

K'nex Mario Adventures by AR-Cade TNG and C.H. Productions (their one and the same) Now has 120 LIKES on Facebook. AR-Cade (Me) held a presentation for simple Stop Motion on the Nintendo 3DS in Saginaw MI today at Barnes and Noble for their Mini Maker Faire. Animations will be online within a week from today. A new animation will be made for this Christmas.

Mario 64 on Smart Watch

Hacking Jules Hacked (huh, imagine that) an android smartwatch to play Super Mario 64. This is kind of silly though because the N64 has many buttons to use and the screen is really small. It's impractical. The game's image doesn't even fill the entire screen. Also, it appears that the games played on this watch from N64 have no audio.

Super Mario Maker's update details

The Super Mario Maker team sat down with usgamer.net to talk on the latest update released for the game. Just to let you know, if you want to upload a course with the Checkpoint flag in it, you'll have to beat it from the start of the level and then from the flag in order to upload it. Also you can only place one flag in your course.

Yamashita (Director of Super Mario Maker): "As Mr. Oshino says, costumes and event courses were something we'd planned during development. But originally, with the checkpoint flag, this was something we thought wouldn't be possible, too difficult to include. Once we saw the strong response on the Internet, we realized we needed to look into the issue again and press forward to make its inclusion possible. The checkpoint flag's inclusion was specifically to address voices in the community that we've seen calling for it—demanding it, really."
